Saving Time & Money with Crystran’s Stock Optics & Re-polishing Service

The application of a thin-film / dielectric coating on an optical surface is a complicated process. To ensure coating performance meets design expectation, both spectrally and environmentally, small (typically 25x1 mm) ‘witness pieces’ are routinely included in every furnace run.

At Crystran, we’re happy to work with coating companies to essentially recycle their old / used witness pieces, saving them both time and money. We have a huge amount of in-house expertise polishing a wide variety of UV / VIS / IR materials, and can easily remove an ‘old’ coating and make the window as good as new.

Additionally, we have a huge range of stock optics, available for immediate delivery, that covers the complete optical spectrum from DUV (λ = 120 nm) to FIR (λ = 50 um). Including materials such as CaF2 / ZnSe / MgF2 / LiF / Ge, these are made to all commonly requested shapes and sizes. Of course, for anything more specific, given that we manufacture these parts at our UK factory, we can quickly make custom designs in often just a few weeks.
