Crystran manufacture in the UK for shipment across the world
We are optical engineers specialising in fabricating components from IR and UV materials, mainly crystal or innovative glasses used for their particular transmission properties, from which we derive the name of our company.
You can see a full list of the materials we work with on our materials page. This includes well-known materials for use in the IR spectrum such as Germanium and Zinc Selenide, but also more exotic crystals such as KRS-5 and Cesium Iodide providing IR transmission up to 50 um. For deep-UV applications, we offer a wide variety of fluoride salts such as Calcium Fluoride and Magnesium Fluoride, all cut and precision-polished under one roof. Additionally, we work with a whole host of glass types suitable for visible / near-IR and UV optics. Filter glasses, high index glasses or even the commonly found BK-7 can all be supplied.
World class facilities - world wide deliveries
With state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC milling, double-sided and planetary polishing, and the latest metrology equipment, we pride ourselves on our ability to support our customers to the industry standards they expect. Accredited to ISO9001:2015, we count many major OEM companies and most major Universities amongst our customers. We can help you too.

Crystran is an industry-leading organisation with a wealth of experience. In our former years, as a part of a large international chemical company we spent more than 200 cumulative years working with specialised optical materials. Collectively we had overseen the manufacture of thousands of crystals and managed several large contracts in the USA, Japan and at the European research facility at CERN in Geneva.
All this proved to be a good start in December 1993 when we continued to trade under our own ownership, and today we occupy our own factory with 16,000 sq ft of manufacturing space and 35 employees including graduates in Chemistry, Physics and Quality Assurance. Our customer base is global and ranges from major international manufacturers of analytical and control instrumentation, aerospace companies and space agencies, to research establishments and most leading Universities worldwide.
We are an established UK manufacturing company, located in Poole on the south coast of England.
We do not have branches or representatives in other countries, we supply directly to all our customers worldwide. For further details on how to find us please look at our contact us page.
Korth Kristalle is our sister company based in Germany, who specializes in the growth of high-quality crystalline fluoride materials. You can visit their website here: www.korth.de
